NATIVE SPEAKER uses so-called Translation Memory Systems (TMS) for all translation jobs. They are the translator’s ‘digital memory’, in which all previously translated vocabulary, text segments or entire texts are stored and can be called up at any time. Translation memory systems allow the translator to work faster and to use a consistent vocabulary. They also allow several translators to work on a text at the same time without any inconsistencies in the choice of terminology. Identical content therefore only needs to be translated once, but can be used an infinite number of times.
During translation, the translation memory software automatically searches for similar or identical content that has already been translated on a previous occasion. If it finds a match, the translator is prompted to use the previously translated vocabulary or text passage. This not only saves time, but also cuts costs.
The advantages of TMS
- uniform terminology
- faster translation
- consistent quality
- lower costs
It goes without saying that we use the latest software to manage and recall your term base. This includes:
- Across Language Server
- MemoQ
- OmegaT
- SDL Trados Studio
- Wordfast
These programs support all common formats such as Microsoft Office, OpenOffice, HTML or XML. Files from Adobe InDesign, InCopy and PDFs can also be read from and stored in terminology databases.
